Easy Taco Salad

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef (90/10)
  • 3 tbsp taco seasoning (or 1 packet)
  • ½ cup water
  • Ingredients -- Taco Salad
  • 1 medium head iceberg lettuce, chopped
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes or pico de gallo
  • ½ cup Mexican cheese blend
  • ½ cup tortilla strips or chips
  • ½ cup sour cream or taco salad dressing*
  • ¼ cup cilantro
  • Optional toppings: lime wedges, jalapeños, guac, salsa, olives

Instructions

    Cook the beef: Brown beef in a skillet over med-high heat. Drain fat, add seasoning + water. Simmer 3--5 mins. Let cool slightly.

    Make dressing (optional):  Mix sour cream, mayo, lime juice & garlic powder. Chill while prepping salad.

    Build your bowls: Layer chopped lettuce in bowls. Top with taco meat.

    Assemble & serve:  Add avocado, tomatoes, cheese, chips & more. Top with cilantro,

    essing or sour cream. Squeeze lime before eating!

Notes

1.For gluten-free, use GF taco seasoning.

2.Taco Salad Dressing:

 - ½ cup sour cream

 - ⅓ cup mayo

 - 2 tbsp lime juice

 - 1 tsp garlic powder
